About Our Director

As a child, I always had a desire to help people. My mother was a nurse and I looked up to her for the courage she showed every day to those in dire need of emergency care. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse, and I always knew that I loved children. It didn’t take me long to figure out that I wanted to follow in my mother’s footsteps, although my career would lead me down a different path.

Throughout my nursing school career, my emphasis was on women’s health, and labor and delivery. While still in school, I volunteered at a local public hospital so I could get as much experience as possible. I always opted for the nursery, labor deck, or post-partum unit. Subsequent post-graduation work always led me back to the labor deck. Being a part of the amazing experience of birth and delivery was a blessing each and every time. I felt honored to be a part of that moment with so many families. That passion fueled my career.

After experiencing the miracle of the birth of my own child, I was looking to go back to work but felt a burning desire to help people who could not have families of their own. I knew how much I loved being a mom, so I applied for a position at a fertility clinic in Denver. There I started my career as a fertility nurse. The joy of helping those who could not have children, other than through in vitro fertilization (IVF), outweighed working solely with laboring patients, rewarding as that was.

Then I became aware of yet another obstacle facing some would-be parents. What about the women who could not use their own eggs through IVF or carry their own child? My heart went out to them. I became even more focused on redesigning the donor egg programs at the clinics I worked for. It was an amazing experience; we were offering more than we ever could have imagined.

I soon opened my own agency to help match families, egg donors, and surrogates to give people the chance at conceiving and creating their own families. Over the years I have even donated my own eggs to couples who had no other option. When I opened my agency, I received so much positive feedback. People were excited to work with an agency run by a nurse, who could not only show support as the agency director but also offer the medical knowledge that all clients need and deserve.

My desire is to be the support system families and individuals need while experiencing the life-changing event of bringing a child into the world. It is my pleasure and privilege to be able to offer this service to so many deserving families. Through the years I have met some of the most amazing people. I have been honored to hear their stories. Now, in our book, I am able to share their stories with you.

We have birthed An Eggceptional Match to give you an insider’s view of what women and families experience on their journey to conception. My wish is that you find these experiences inspiring and empowering, and that no matter where you are on your own personal journey of starting and growing you're family, to know that there is hope and that you are not alone.
