A Step-by-Step Overview

At An Eggceptional Match, we know the surrogacy journey is both exciting and deeply personal. That’s why we’ve created a clear, five-step process to guide Intended Parents and Gestational Carriers from introduction to delivery with confidence.

Step 1: Matching – Part 1

The journey starts when Intended Parents register with An Eggceptional Match and complete their “About Us” profile, giving potential Gestational Carriers a chance to get to know them. If a match is identified, a $500 refundable retainer is due within 48 hours to schedule the introductory conference call

A recorded call is then scheduled between the IPs and GC to ensure alignment and comfort between all parties. If all goes well, the GC’s profile and medical records are submitted to the fertility clinic for initial medical review under the same retainer.

Step 2: Matching – Part 2

After clinical approval, the matching process deepens. The $500 retainer is collected, and the Match Meeting is scheduled to solidify the connection and ensure common ground on tough to broach topics. This step sets the foundation for a secure and collaborative relationship!

Once the Match Meeting is completed, and all parties agree to proceed, the below will take place:

• Agency agreements are signed
• Escrow accounts are funded
• Intended Parents undergo a background checks

Step 3: Medical Screening

Next, the agency coordinates several important evaluations, including:

• Insurance reviews for the GC (if needed)
• Medical and mental health screenings for the GC and her partner
• Mental health screenings for the IPs (if not already completed).

Once all requirements are met, and the clinic gives the green light, the embryo transfer is completed — a major milestone in the journey!

Step 4: Legal Proceedings

An Eggceptional Match refers experienced reproductive law attorneys to both parties and facilitates the drafting and signing of the Gestational Carrier Agreement.

Your attorney will assist with both the Gestational Carrier Agreement (GCA) as well as the Parentage Order (Pre-Birth Order or PBO).

Step 5: Cycle Coordination

We manage every detail of the surrogacy process—from medical scheduling and legal timelines to communication between all parties—ensuring a smooth, organized, and supportive journey to delivery.
