Traditional or Gestational Surrogacy:

What is right for you?

What is traditional surrogacy?

Traditional surrogacy is when the surrogate uses her own egg to conceive the child, making her the biological mother. She carries and delivers the baby for the intended parents, but has a genetic connection to the child.

What is Gestational Surrogacy?

Gestational surrogacy involves implanting an embryo, created with the egg and sperm from the intended parents (or donors), into the surrogate’s uterus. The surrogate has no genetic link to the baby, as she is simply carrying the child for the intended parents.

Which is right for you?

At AEM, we focus exclusively on gestational surrogacy, the most modern and widely used form of surrogacy today. In gestational surrogacy, the surrogate carries a baby created through in vitro fertilization (IVF) using an egg and sperm from the intended parents or donors. This means the surrogate has no genetic connection to the child—she is not the biological mother, but rather a loving and committed carrier helping another family grow.

Choosing gestational surrogacy offers clear legal and emotional boundaries for everyone involved. Because the surrogate is not biologically related to the baby, intended parents have full parental rights from the start, and the surrogate is free from future obligations. This creates a smoother, more secure experience for both the surrogate and the intended parents—something we prioritize every step of the way at AEM.
