There is just something unbelievably special about surrogacy journeys! A woman chooses to help another family have the baby they have been dreaming of. This woman gives so much of herself to complete a beautiful surrogacy journey for, in most instances, complete strangers.

In helping someone else, she also gets to help her own family through the compensation provided to carriers. This compensation has allowed families to go on vacations they had only ever dreamed of, put down payments on houses, buy cars, pay for their children’s college, and so much more.

Surrogacy, however, is SO much more than the compensation. It is the friendships created, the community, and the lifelong bonds that grow between surrogates, intended parents, their families, their friends, and their communities. The way we get to watch people who may have never crossed paths suddenly become connected forever.

And then there’s the birth. Watching a surrogate deliver a baby and seeing the intended parents become parents right before your eyes is something I don’t believe anyone in this industry will ever tire of. Often, we get to watch children become siblings. We get to see the strength and joy in a surrogate’s own children when they realize just what their mom has given to someone else!

The tears. The smiles. The overwhelming joy. Surrogacy is beautiful and I don’t believe I will ever stop being amazed by it!
